The amazing local Maltia Caffe came to us a while ago, wanting some much nicer signs to go in the cabinet. They previously were using metal bases and printed on paper and laminated signs. They worked, but were hard to change, and after a while they looked a little bit average as they peeled and separated.
So they asked us, what can you do to fix this? And thus these little signs were born!
So we developed two components - the sign itself made from acrylic, and a custom 3D printed base. We don't make a lot of 3D printed products, but we're adding more as we go, as it's a cost effective way to create things we can't otherwise create with our laser cutters. And it's a perfect to add little touches and features to our products!
By default, we print the text of your choice onto the board with our UV printer. This is durable and reliable, and can also be in full colour! We can then leave the rest of the acrylic areas free for you to be able to write on them with whiteboard markers. You can then easily erase and rewrite them as often as you need to!
You can also use permanent marker on the acrylic, which can then be removed with Isopropyl alcohol, which will remove the permanent marker, but leave the UV print - giving you even more options for using them.
Another option is to get them in black, and then write on the black acrylic with a white (or coloured!) chalk marker. This gives a very different and unique feel. We can still UV print your logo and other wording onto the black acrylic in exactly the same way.
