Your Custom Artwork Earrings

The Artwork

Printing earrings sounds simple, but in practice, there is actaully a lot going on to make these happen! To reach this price point for these quantities, we've had to make a few assumptions on the artwork, which are listed below.

• You must have permission to reproduce the artwork that you send to us, generally by it being your work. You can't send us a photo from the internet or something that you've taken without permission. All you often need to do is ask the person who made it.
• We may take only a portion of the image that you send and turn it into an earring. The sunflower example shown is actually a rectangle, but we've cropped out part of it to focus on the important part of the painting.
• There will be a slight positioining error due to the process we use to make these and meet the price point; the image may be up to 0.4mm away from where the proof shows it to be. These work best with artwork that can go over the edge of the earring, or isn't perfectly symmetrical.
• We'll pick an earring shape that we feel best fits the artwork. Often this will be a circle - but we're happy to use other basic shapes, like the teardrop shown in the example!

Tips for getting the best artwork to us

These days, we recommend taking a photo of the artwork to send to us - modern phones have really good cameras! Here are a few tips to get the best results:

• Photograph the artwork straight-on if possible.
• Take the photo in bright light - sunlight if possible. Make sure there are no shadows over the paper.
• Try to flatten the paper as much as possible; it's hard to digitally remove wrinkles.
• Get as much of the picture in the photo a possible, moving closer to the photo as needed.
• Make sure the artwork is in focus.

If we have any issues with the artwork, we'll let you know and work with you to get the correct artwork.

The display board

We also include a birch display board with two small feet to allow it to freestand. This allows you to show off the earrings when they're not in use! It also turns them into an incredible gift for grandparents, too.

We include one display board with each pair, and we can customise the wording on this one too - please let us know in the notes!

Multiple pairs

When ordering, you have the choice of one, two, three, or four pairs. Each of the pairs will be identical; if you'd like different designs, you'll need to add the same item to the cart multiple times. The pricing reflects the setup time required to run off multiple pairs of earrings.

Shipping and Lead time

After ordering, we aim to have artwork to you for review within 48 hours. After approval, these take a few days to manufacture and then ship - but at most 7 days. Generally it's much, much faster though!

How are these different from the wholesale sets?

These earrings differ from the wholesale UV printed designs in several ways:

• They are in fixed basic shapes (circle, teardrop, and so forth) - we can't do custom shapes for these ones.
• They use a simpler cut-print-cut (CPC) alignment method instead of the more accurate sub-millimetre-positioning (SMP) method. This is chosen to reach this price point. It works best with artwork that is not symetrical, or can be bled over the edge of the earring. If you're really keen, all the details on this are in our blog post.
• We can do single pairs of these for you - the minimum quantity for wholesale sets is 10 pairs and a setup fee.
